Kazlak in New Cairo: A Polished Steakhouse Experience Worth the Splurge

Tucked inside Boulevard Mivida in New Cairo’s Fifth Settlement, Kazlak positioned itself as a refined dining destination centred around premium cuts, attentive service, and a polished atmosphere. From the moment we arrived, the experience set a clear tone, one that leaned into comfort, quality, and detail.

Arrival & Atmosphere

Once we stepped into Kazlak, we were immediately welcomed by a warm and attentive hostess who greeted us with a smile and asked about our party size. The atmosphere was inviting and polished, setting the tone for what felt like a refined dining experience.

We were then guided to our table, with the option of sitting indoors in a cosy, elegant setting or outside, where the ambience felt more relaxed and airy. After being seated, menus were presented, and it was hard not to feel slightly overwhelmed by the wide variety of premium beef cuts and dishes, all equally tempting. Shortly after, we were served a small complimentary cup of sparkling lemonade. This refreshing touch added to the overall experience before the waiter came by to take the order.

Starting Strong: The Soup

The meal began with the Cream of Mushroom Soup (245 EGP). It was rich and velvety, offering a deep umami flavour that felt comforting and well-balanced. The texture was smooth without being too heavy, making it a great way to begin the meal.

Crispy & Comforting: The Escalope Pane

The Escalope Pane (675 EGP) was perfectly executed. The meat itself was tender, while the outer layer was crispy and golden, fried to perfection. It was served alongside well-seasoned potato wedges and two flavorful dipping sauces that complemented the dish nicely.

A Standout Cut: The Tornado Fillet

The Tornado Fillet (850 EGP ) stood out for its quality. It was completely fat-free yet remained incredibly juicy and full of flavour. The mashed potato served with it was buttery, creamy, and indulgent, pairing beautifully with the steak.

The Highlight: The Short Ribs

The highlight of the experience was definitely the Short Ribs (940 EGP). The meat was so tender it practically fell off the bone, with just the right amount of charred fat adding depth and richness. The accompanying mashed potatoes were light yet flavorful, making the dish feel both hearty and refined.

Ending on a Sweet Note: The Dessert

For dessert, the Tres Leches Cake (220 EGP ) was ordered. It was soft, airy, and soaked perfectly, with the condensed milk adding just the right level of sweetness without being overwhelming.

The Verdict

Overall, Kazlak delivered a fantastic dining experience. From the attentive service to the high-quality food, everything felt thoughtfully prepared. While the prices were on the higher side, the quality, ambience, and overall experience made it well worth it.
