Eleven years, countless memorable stays, and two more reasons to celebrate. The Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo is marking its 11th anniversary this October with international recognition from Condé Nast Traveler and the World MICE Awards, adding another milestone to its journey in the heart of the Egyptian capital.
Overlooking the Nile and the historic Egyptian Museum, the hotel has become a familiar name in Cairo’s luxury hospitality scene, bringing together contemporary elegance, Egyptian character, and the personalised service associated with The Ritz-Carlton.
Two International Awards Worth Celebrating
This year’s anniversary comes with recognition that extends well beyond Cairo. The Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo has been named among Condé Nast Traveler’s Top 5 Hotels in Africa in its 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards, a distinction shaped by the experiences and votes of travellers. The hotel has also received the Best Incentive Hotel 2026 title at the World MICE Awards, recognising its offering within the meetings, incentives, conferences, and events sector.
Together, the awards highlight two different sides of the hotel. While one reflects its appeal to leisure travellers seeking memorable stays, the other acknowledges its ability to host professional gatherings and incentive experiences. For a hotel celebrating more than a decade in Cairo, the recognition makes this anniversary particularly meaningful.
A Cairo Landmark Since 2015
Since opening its doors in 2015, The Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo has offered guests a distinctive perspective on the city, with its central location placing the river and some of Cairo’s most recognisable landmarks close at hand. The hotel features 329 rooms and suites, alongside nine restaurants and bars that offer different settings for dining, drinks, and social occasions.
Whether guests are visiting Cairo for the first time, returning for a familiar experience, or planning a special stay closer to home, the hotel combines its location with a range of dining, leisure, and wellness experiences. Its versatile event spaces also make it a destination for corporate gatherings, conferences, and celebrations, extending its role beyond traditional hotel accommodation.
Celebrating the People Behind the Experience

While the awards are an important part of the anniversary, the occasion also recognises the people who have contributed to the hotel’s journey. The milestone was marked with a cake-cutting ceremony attended by hotel guests and senior representatives, including Safak Guvenc, Regional Vice President, Luxury Middle East and Qatar, Kuwait, Türkiye at Marriott International; Abdel Aziz Eid, CEO and Managing Director of Misr Hotels Company; and Joe Ghayad, General Manager of The Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo.
Reflecting on the anniversary, Ghayad credited the hotel’s team for bringing The Ritz-Carlton’s service philosophy to life over the years. He also expressed his appreciation to Condé Nast Traveler and the readers who voted for the hotel, describing the international recognition as particularly meaningful during its 11th anniversary celebrations. Looking ahead, he reaffirmed the hotel’s commitment to creating memorable guest experiences and building lasting relationships through its #GuestsForLife philosophy.
Looking Ahead to Another Chapter

As The Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo enters its twelfth year, the focus remains on continuing to develop the experiences that have shaped its reputation. Alongside its commitment to personalised hospitality, the hotel plans to build on its culinary offering, guest experiences, and approach to responsible hospitality and community engagement.
And while 11 years is certainly an occasion worth celebrating, the two international awards offer a reminder that the hotel’s story is still evolving. For guests who have made memories here over the years, and those yet to discover it, The Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo continues to offer a place to stay, dine, gather, and experience the capital from one of its most recognisable locations.
